Why choose us?
How we work
Instead of quick fixes or one-size-fits-all counselling, at Holistically Humanâ„¢ we combine proven psychotherapeutic methods with the latest mind-body research to help clients create meaningful, long-term change.
Our hand-picked counsellors, along with our team of body and breath work specialists, provide tailored support, while our education programs train the next generation of practitioners in holistic, evidence-based care.
Put simply, we help our clients reconnect and learn tools to regulate both their mind and body.
Why working holistically matters
There’s a wealth of scientific, peer-reviewed research that demonstrates a very clear link between brain and body. However, this isn’t always acknowledged in the therapy space.
In fact, current counselling services and core training rarely cover Polyvagal Theory (PVT), body regulation and therapeutic practices that treat the whole human.
As a result, clients and practitioners can become very fixated on symptoms of poor mental health such as panic attacks, anxiety and depression and quick fixes such as medication to alleviate them.
A new wave of understanding is rising as our understanding of the brain and neuroscience builds and research is becoming more widely available via new media channels. People are catching on and seeking their own solutions to make use of the knowledge they are gaining.
It is no longer shaming to have counselling, moving to an accepted part of self-development, with many young adults using it as a source of growth and self-knowledge so they can live their lives fully.
However, without clear guidance the sheer volume of information available can be over-whelming, some sources are spurious, many misinterpret the information being made available without access to an expert or spend huge amounts of money in a quest of trial and error.
Embracing the science
Together as a network of Holistic Humansâ„¢ we provide a service to our clients that is unique to their needs as a whole-human. We come together as a network of mind-body specialists to support you in navigating what is right for you.
Our practitioners and educators call upon skills rooted in their core training in modalities including (but not limited to) person-centred, psychodynamic, and somatic forms of counselling. But underpinning our practice is an understanding of neurophysiology and the mind and body connection.
Our partners in body and movement work with us by combining their core skills in physical therapy with our bespoke training in whole-human therapy to become accredited Holistic Humans.
We combine counselling with this wider therapeutic practice to provide our clients with the skills and tools to enhance their growth as an individual.
By reconnecting mind and body, embracing core human needs and joining the dots with psycho-education, we give clients the tools they need to ensure that the change they seek is long lasting and carries them throughout their lives.
In this way Holistically Human™ offers counselling that supports the whole self—mind and body—so clients can feel supported, heal deeply, and make lasting positive change.

What working holistically means in therapy practice
Counselling sessions

Therapy doesn't take place just 'in the head'
Clients are encouraged to connect to physical sensations and resulting signs/symptoms experienced physically.
Practitioners work with clients to identify barriers to wellness
Empowering them to make positive changes in a space that’s non-judgemental and accepting of choice.
Sessions are held with the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work
Research shows that this leads to long-term positive actions and meaningful change.
Why our partners work with us [REJIG THIS]
We understand the pressures. We see that clients are often signposted to services with long waiting lists offering short-term help within the parameters of a particular modality, i.e. CBT or person-centred.
And we know this is often a ‘band-aid approach’ which frequently sees clients returning again and again. So, we offer: Â
A whole-human approach to a complex situation – working with clients to ensure they have the resources, tools and relilience to take care of their own mental health.
An approach that’s been developed after a collective 100+ years of experience working within the mental health sector.
A commitment to donating 3% of fees to funding counselling for those unable to access for financial reasons – giving the gift of good mental health to a wider client base.
Ensuring a legacy of holistic practice
