Counsellor Profile
I work with adults and young people who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to turn. Some clients arrive with clear reasons for seeking support, while others simply know something doesn’t feel right and need a safe space to talk. All are welcome, just as they are. Many clients come when life feels heavy — past experiences still affecting the present, emotions that are confusing or hard to manage, or challenges with relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, or low mood. Many have coped on their own for a long time before reaching out. Working with me often feels calm, gentle, and unhurried. Clients describe feeling listened to, respected, and supported at their own pace. There is no pressure to share more than feels safe, and no expectation to have the “right words.” Trust builds naturally over time. My approach is grounded in warmth, compassion, and safety. I offer a steady, non-judgemental presence, taking experiences seriously and working in a trauma-informed way. I prioritise emotional safety, choice, and collaboration. My aim is to create a space where you don’t have to carry things alone — a place where healing can begin gently, in your own time.
I work integratively, offering a gentle, flexible approach shaped around each client. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method; sessions are guided by what feels most helpful in the moment. I listen carefully and compassionately, helping you explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels safe. At times, I may offer reflections or ideas to support clarity and understanding, but you remain in control of what we focus on. Everything we do is guided by your comfort and wellbeing. My aim is to create a steady, respectful, and supportive space — a place where you can feel understood and begin to make sense of your experiences.
I believe emotional, physical, and psychological experiences are closely connected. Life’s challenges can be felt in both mind and body, and I take a holistic approach, considering the whole person. In sessions, we may notice emotions, thoughts, or physical responses, especially when words are hard to find. Any focus on the mind–body connection happens gently and at your pace, creating a grounded and compassionate space to make sense of your experiences.
In our first session, we’ll take time to help you feel comfortable and go at your pace. I’ll explain how counselling works, answer questions, and invite you to share what brought you here — but there’s no pressure. You’re in control of what to share, and my role is to provide a calm, supportive space where you can begin to feel heard.
