Training and movement specialist Profile

Gemma

I help people reconnect with their bodies through an integrated approach of soft tissue therapy, movement, breath, and education, supporting lasting physical and emotional wellbeing.

About Gemma

My journey into this work grew from a deep curiosity about how bodies really function in real life — under pressure, stress, change, motherhood, injury, and everything in between. I’ve always been drawn to understanding why pain shows up, why it lingers, and why so many people feel disconnected from their bodies rather than supported by them. Over time, I realised I didn’t just want to help people “fix” symptoms; I wanted to help them feel more at home in their bodies again. I trained as a soft tissue therapist alongside qualifying as a Pilates instructor, and my work has naturally evolved into a blend of hands-on therapy, movement, breath, and education. Becoming a mum and navigating my own postnatal recovery led me into women’s health, undertaking extensive training in postnatal recovery, pelvic health, scar work, and pain science. While movement has always been a foundation, I’m particularly proud of developing an integrated approach that bridges manual therapy with how people move, live, and cope day to day.

My Approach

I work from a whole-person perspective, recognising that pain and tension are rarely just mechanical problems. I’m especially passionate about supporting women — including those navigating pregnancy, postnatal recovery, hormonal change, persistent pain, or a sense that their body no longer feels like their own. What excites me most is helping people understand their bodies with clarity and compassion, so change feels empowering rather than overwhelming.

Holistic & Mind–Body Perspective

Holistically Human resonates deeply with how I already work. To me, “whole-human” means acknowledging that physical symptoms are influenced by stress, emotions, identity, past experiences, and daily demands. Being part of a team that values curiosity, collaboration, and genuinely personalised care feels both grounding and energising. Outside of the clinic, movement is still a big part of my life — from Pilates to ballroom dancing, climbing mountains, and volunteering with the Scouts. But I also hugely value rest, creativity, and time with my family. I know firsthand how important (and challenging) it is to balance caring for others with caring for yourself, and I bring that lived understanding into my work with clients.

"When you work with me, you can expect a calm, supportive space where your story is fully heard and not rushed. Clients often describe sessions as reassuring, insightful, and grounding. My hope is that you leave feeling more comfortable in your body, empowered rather than overwhelmed, and supported by a plan you trust."
