Trainee Counsellor Profile

Cima

I offer a gentle, warm, and compassionate space for people who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or tired of carrying everything alone, bringing together emotional understanding, body awareness, and whole-person care.

About Cima

I am a trainee counsellor who believes deeply in the importance of being met with kindness and understanding, especially during difficult times. I am thoughtful, reflective, and committed to offering each client my full attention and care. I was drawn to counselling through a profound awareness while caring for a loved one with terminal cancer, understanding how meaningful it can be to simply allow someone to be heard, without trying to fix, judge, or pressure change. As a person I am gentle, sensitive, empathetic, and compassionate. As a counsellor in training, I am reflective and attentive, seeking to understand each client’s unique experience. I recognise that reaching out for support can feel intimidating or frightening. My hope is that you feel welcomed, at ease, and accepted as you are. You do not need the right words or clarity on what to talk about — arriving overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted is more than okay. My aim is to offer a calm, reassuring presence where you can speak openly and be yourself at your own pace. I believe healing begins with being met as you are, and that meaningful change unfolds gently, through connection and understanding.

My Approach

My approach is currently influenced by person-centred therapy, valuing empathy, authenticity, and unconditional acceptance, and informed by psychodynamic approaches to gently explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. Meaningful change happens when you feel emotionally safe, understood, and supported. I work collaboratively, always respecting your pace, boundaries, and individual needs. Sessions are guided by what feels most important to you, unfolding collaboratively with trust, curiosity, and respect for your autonomy.

Holistic & Mind–Body Perspective

I believe emotional wellbeing is deeply connected to the body and nervous system. Stress, anxiety, and past experiences can show up as physical sensations, tension, or a sense of disconnection. When appropriate, I may invite gentle attention to bodily sensations, grounding, movement, or breath. This is always guided by what feels safe and supportive. By combining mind, body, and emotional awareness, therapy can support greater self-compassion, regulation, and a sense of balance.

What a session with me is like

Sessions are calm, gentle, and paced around you. You can speak about whatever feels important, and there is no pressure to have the right words or follow a fixed agenda. I listen carefully, offering gentle reflections or ideas when helpful, while you remain in control. Sessions adapt to what feels most supportive and grounding for you.

"I see counselling as a collaborative and compassionate process. My role is to walk alongside you sensitively, offering support as you explore your inner world at a pace that feels right for you."
