Trainee Counsellor Profile

Carly

I help people who are struggling with their emotions, relationships, or sense of self, by providing a non-judgemental space to work together to explore what is going on for them and support positive change.

About Carly

I am a trainee integrative counsellor who provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment for those who need support with life’s challenges. My own experience of therapy has led me to becoming a trainee counsellor, as it has had such a positive impact in my life. I am a warm, friendly and open person who likes to engage with all types of people. I hope that clients feel an instant sense of ease with me, where they feel they can talk about their true feelings so we can work to unpick issues together. I believe that the more you understand yourself, the more empowered you become in your own life. Together we will work on better understanding yourself to help manage difficult emotions and any blockers to leading a positive and healthy life.

My Approach

I believe emotional wellbeing and physical experience are connected and this understanding shapes how I work with clients. An holistic approach to therapy means I am curious about the whole person, which includes emotions, thoughts, feelings and physical experience. We will recognise how the body and mind are interrelated and how we can focus on them together for positive transformative change. Integrating a holistic perspective into the therapeutic relationship will help to create sustainable strategies for overall improved wellness.

Holistic & Mind–Body Perspective

As an integrative counsellor, I draw upon a mixture of approaches to help with the therapeutic work. The approaches I use are psychodynamic and person centred, which means you will be met with a safe, empathetic and authentic environment, one that encourages you to bring your whole self. We will open the doors to curiosity, self-discovery and exploration, past and present with full respect of your autonomy.

"If you are thinking of starting therapy with me, I would like to reassure you that you will have a confidential, supportive and explorative space. We will work together to make sense of your feelings and experiences at your own pace, in a non-judgemental and collaborative way. You are taking a courageous and positive step and I look forward to meeting you."
