Kameliya

Offering a safe, supportive space for adults and young people to explore challenges, feel heard, and find their way forward.

About Kameliya

Hello, my name is Kameliya and I am a therapeutic counsellor based in Reading, UK, offering flexible online sessions to adults and young people aged 11 and over. I aim to meet each client with openness, empathy, and respect, alongside a deep belief in their strength, resilience, and inherent worth. I see therapy as a collaborative process and consider it a privilege to explore a client’s life story, experiences, and challenges together, supporting them to find a way forward that feels meaningful and achievable for them. My personal and professional journey has been shaped by living and working in five different countries and across a wide range of roles, including manual labour, corporate work, teaching, childcare, and psychotherapy. I have also faced my own personal struggles and know what it can be like to move through difficult and uncertain times. These experiences have strengthened my belief that, with the right support and a trusting therapeutic relationship, change is possible — even when things feel overwhelming or stuck. I began my journey as a counsellor over a decade ago and have since completed extensive training in psychology, psychotherapy, counselling, and coaching. This allows me to work integratively, tailoring my approach to the unique needs and goals of each individual client. I look forward to working alongside you as you navigate your next steps, wherever you are starting from.

My Approach

I work integratively, drawing on person-centred, CBT, psychodynamic, transactional analysis, and body-oriented approaches. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative and responsive to the individual, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. I aim to offer a calm, supportive space where you can talk freely and feel truly heard. I listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and when helpful, gently challenge unhelpful beliefs or patterns. I believe lasting change often happens when insight is combined with practical action, helping you feel more balanced, empowered, and in control of your life.

Holistic & Mind–Body Perspective

I see thoughts, emotions, and the body as deeply interconnected, and I believe it’s important to pay attention to all aspects of ourselves in therapy. Often, experiences we can’t yet put into words show up through physical sensations or symptoms, offering valuable insight into what’s happening beneath the surface. In our work together, we may gently notice how your body responds alongside your thoughts and feelings. Any focus on the mind–body connection happens at your pace and only in ways that feel supportive and appropriate for you.

What a session with me is like

Sessions are relaxed, non-judgemental, and led by what feels most important to you. We’ll take time to explore what brings you to therapy, without pressure to have everything figured out. I’ll listen closely, ask questions to understand your experiences, and support you in making sense of what’s going on for you, at a pace that feels right.

"Starting therapy can feel nerve-wracking, and I have deep respect for anyone taking this step. From our first session, my aim is to help you feel safe, supported, and genuinely heard. We’ll go at your pace, checking in along the way, and working together in a way that feels comfortable and approachable for you."
