Trainee Counsellor Profile
Hello, I’m Lucia. I started my journey as a counsellor after several years in a corporate job, at a time when I was looking for a more meaningful career and a workplace that genuinely values human connection. I am now working towards my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and I can honestly say that my training has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. My hope is to pass on some of the knowledge, warmth, and care that I have experienced during my training to anyone who might be needing them. I would describe myself as respectful — of other people’s beliefs, feelings, and experiences — while also respecting each person’s autonomy and their right to be in charge of their own life. I believe people sometimes lose their way or their voice in the messiness of life — I know I have in the past. My wish is to create a space where clients can come as they are, know that they are enough, and feel truly heard. I recognise that it is a privilege to be trusted with people’s thoughts, hopes, and personal histories, and I believe everyone deserves to be met with respect, without judgement, and with my full attention.
I work integratively, blending elements of person-centred and psychodynamic theory. Drawing on different counselling approaches allows me to tailor my work to each individual, as every person’s experience and needs are unique. While our past can offer valuable insight into who we are, I believe that being able to relate to another human being in a way that is kind, honest, and safe is central to meaningful change. Trust is at the heart of the therapeutic relationship — trust that you will be heard without judgement, and trust in your own ability to reconnect with your genuine self and move towards a more fulfilling and hopeful life.
I believe that emotional wellbeing is closely connected to our physical experience. Feelings such as anxiety, stress, or worry often make themselves known through the body, and becoming aware of these signals can be an important part of the therapeutic process. I bring this understanding into my work with clients, with the awareness that each body and each experience is unique. Together, we may explore how the mind–body connection shows up for you and how developing this awareness can support you on your therapeutic journey.
Sessions with me are calm, respectful, and led by you. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to speak openly, without pressure or judgement. We will work at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on what feels most important in the moment. My role is to listen, support, and explore alongside you, helping you feel heard and understood.
